Too faced Galaxy Glam

Sometimes Im a little snobby and quite often in TK Maxx I ignore the beauty area because there's never anything that catches my eyes and the brands aren't ones I'll use. Recently TK Maxx has had an explosion of great beauty brands available. I've seen a lot of Urban Decay, Too Faced, NYX and Nails Inc in my local store. Last time I was in there I grabbed a Too Faced Galaxy Glam eye shadow. I didn't really look at this in the store, it was one of those impulse buys. As the shade was called moon beam and there's a little running joke in our house about the words moon beam so it tickled me a little and I had to have it. At £3.99 I was really going to complain either.

The shadow is a marbled powder. Its nice and shimmery and catches the light beautifully. Its in a nice screw top tub and you get 3 gms of product. It is quite a chunky packaging but I like it its not fiddly or hard to handle. There also doesn't seem to be a way to depot this one.

The colour is a beautiful black based dark green. Looking into the pot I did originally think it was a black shadow but when \I swatched it at home was pleasantly suprised by the green that came through.

You can see from the swatch the actual colours of this. I love it! It looks amazing as a laydown colour and also so beautiful just in the crease. For me this colour is what I wanted from Libertine, the green black in Urban Decays black palette. But that shade left me pretty disapointed.

Top Moon beam bottom Libertine
You can see the difference in the amount of green between the two. If you've ever seen the black palette or own it you'll understand what I mean about this.

I'm loving this shadow and think I've started a little love affair with Too Faced products. So a few palettes are going onto my wish list.

Do you have this? Have any other Too Faced shadows I should try? Let me know

Weekend Wants

My list of things I'm lusting after this week:

1) Benefit Watts up! This is a gorgeous champagne colours soft focus high lighter. A cream high lighter is just whats needed to brighten up my skin in these horrid winter months. £24.50 Debanhams and selected Boots stores.

2) Beauty blender. I've gone off using sponges lately, but have seen so much hype about thes little sponges that I can't help but be curious. I've noticed that the price varies so much on these so you can find them in most high street drug stores starting at around £4.

3) Mac Diva, I love a dark lip look. Since changing my hair colour I've noticed darker colours suit me a lot more. This is the perfect red wine colour lip stick. Which I can never seem to find on the high street.

4) OPI The Living Daylights. This is from the James Bond collection and I am a sucker for a glitter polish. This one contains large pieces of multi coloured glitter which look beautiful layered over any colour. I love chunky glitter over pastle shades. £11 available online or at selected Sallys Beauty stores.

5) Illamasqua Generation Q: Complements palette. This a gorgeous collection of beautiful shimmers, mattes and a cream shade. In 4 beautiful colours. I love purples and dark browns on my eyes, they make the green in my eyes really pop, The pure pigment in Queen of the Night look stunning! £34 Debanhams

6) Nars Orgasm Blush. I've said it time and time again, I'm a blush addict. Im a sucker for a nice looking cheek colour. This one is a gorgeous shimmery peachy pink. It also applies nice and subtly on the cheek.£21 House of Fraser

What items are you wanting this week? Let me know!

MUA Mega Volume Mascara

I write about MUA alot! I am a huge fan of their range. The main thing I love is how often they release new products and how involved they are with the customer base. They do have a great marketing team. Plus none of their products break my student budget! So being a mascara junkie I had to grab their new Mega Volume mascara.

MUA Mega Volume mascara £3

It comes in a bright pink tube which is great in my box as it always stands out. Its a similar designed bottle to the Maybelline volum express. Just with a bigger handle. The packaging felt a little cheap to me (sorry MUA) and I wasn't really keen on it. But its whats inside that counts!

The brush isn't to dissimilar to the Urban Decay Big Fatty, just it doesn't have the ball type structure on the tip. It is a plastic bristle applicator.

The formula is really nice, it smells like apples. It goes on like a dream and doesn't clump. The brush coats every lash nicely and evenly.

I find with my lashes which aren't very curly or particular thick it doesn't do too much to them. This mascara doesn't give me any oomph. I get a great dark black colour on my lashes and they do stand out more just they aren't extremely volumised.

On my sister on the other hand it works great! Her lashes are made to look so much thicker and longer. This gave her a nice false lash effect. She has nice thick eye lashes so better for thicker lashes not on whispies like mine!

You can pick this up at Superdrug stores or online here for £3 a bargain I think!

Have you tried this mascara? What did you think? Let me know
