Urban Decay Big Fatty Mascara

I have stumpy little lashes that need a boost from a great mascara! I'm constantly buying into the hype with new mascaras and have so many of them its unreal! I was a huge fan of the old formula Big fatty by Urban Decay so was a bit skeptical when they changed it.

Urban Decay Big Fatty Mascara £15
The actual formula of this product is great. Its easy to remove and lasts all day. It doesn't crumble off like some mascaras can do. It also doesn't irritate my eyes and doesn't feel too heavy. There's nothing I hate more when my eyes look really squinty because a mascara is very heavy.

The brush is still very thick and fat. Just now its plastic and a comb design. The end has a ball to lift and separate lashes. The combs are separated by a small gap. With this mascara I find if I wiggle the main part of the brush back and forth at the root then gently pull up I get the best results. I also use the end to push lashes up from the root. This gives my lashes more of a lift. This mascara is a beautiful black which is super dark.

I love the effect this mascara has on my lashes. This mascara thickens my lashes and makes them longer. I do need to use a lash comb to separate them as I do find this mascara a little clumpy. I also find I do need to curl my lashes before I use this mascara. But then again I need to use eye lash curlers with every mascara I use.

What mascaras do you use? Do you like this one? Let me know.

Urban Decay De slick

During the day I'm usually quite busy. I'm either on my way to a lecture or at a lecture or working in the library. So retouching my make up is very low on my list. I need it to stay picture perfect from around 7 am to 7 pm. So on my mission to find something to help with this problem I came across Urban Decays setting sprays.  I did have a sample of the all nighter spray which I loved, but I have oily skin and needed something to keep my make up on and matte all day. So after chatting to my friend who used to work at an Urban Decay counter I settled on De Slick.

Urban decay say that De Slick will set your look and keep it shine free for 16 hours.

This product does work. I use it every day and My make up looks as perfect when I get home as it did when I left. It also does keep the oil away as well. You can also use this on top of your primer to keep your make up matte and on your face as well as a few spritzes when you've finished.

I've used this on my boyfriend for costume parties. He always gets pretty sweaty and this helped stop streaking and kept the make up he had on in place for the whole night as well.

You can grab a setting spray from Urban Decay at most Debanhams and House of Fraser stores. They come in two sizes one at 118 ml for £19 and an extra large version for £23

Do you use a setting spray? Which ones do you love? Let me know!

Urban Decay eye primers

Urban Decay Primer potion (Top to bottom) Sin, Eden and Original.

Urban Decays Primer Potion has become a must have item for beauty junkies. I decided to purchase 3 out of the 4 they offer (I had a sample of greed and didn't like it enough to purchase a full sized)

Sin: a champagne shimmer primer which is amazing layered under glittery shadows, it just makes the colours pop and adds to the shimmer effect without changing the colour.

Eden: a yellow toned matte base primer which is great for layering with matte shadows, doesn't add shimmer and keeps the integrity of the finish. Also looks fab under shimmery shadows the yellow tones really push the colour that are on the eyes and make them look almost exactly like they do in the pan.

Original: a clear primer base which looks great with any shadow used.

Swatch below

(Top to bottom) Sin, Eden and Original which is just visible.

Why use a primer?

Primers help keep eye shadows on your eyes for longer. They give the shadows a base to stick to and help stop them wearing off. I know with any of these primers I can fall asleep in my eye make up and the next day it looks as perfect as when I applied it. This means you don't need to touch up your eye make up when your out and about!

Top to botton - Chopper along, over Sin, over Eden, over Original.

Using a primer makes your eye shadows pop it adds something new to it. You can see from the swatch about how beautiful Urban Decays Chopped looks over over the primers. I love layering this colour over sin which adds to the glitter in the shadow. Most of the time I do use Eden as I find that where I have greasy lids it keeps the shadow from creasing better and keeps my lids oil free. You don't need to have oily lids like me to use this though I just find it works better for me.

They are £14.50 each and can be purchased at Debenhams and House of Fraser stores or online Here and Here

Which primers do you use? Are there any on the market I should try out? Let me know your thoughts.
