MUA Glamour Days palette

A few weeks ago I received an amazing email from MUA saying I'd won a give away they were running to win a Glamour Days palette. I was so excited because I love MUA eye shadows and this was actually the next one on my list to purchase.

I love MUA palettes I have a nice little collection coming along now, so when I received this one I knew what to expect.

The palette has 12 shades in with 3 of them being matte colours. The other 9 are gorgeous shimmer shades. I can see why they have called this Glamour Days as the colours included will help make some beautiful glamourous looks which will be perfect for nights out and parties. Its a versatile palette and allows you to create some great day time look. I've used this for looks on days I'm at uni so nice subtle looks with a little make up. My favourite shade is number 3 (3rd from the left in the top row)  Its beautiful and I do find myself grabbing this palette just to use that shade.

Top row swatched

The top row of colours left to right:
1) A light creamy ivory shimmery shade. Makes a beautiful highlight shade!
2) A pearly green with gold shimmer. Quite a turquoise green.
3) A beautiful pinky brown. Looks amazing as a crease shade gently blended out.
4) A matte pink colour. Very pigmented for a matte shade.
5) A matte flesh toned colour. Great for neutral eye looks.
6) A denim coloured shimmer tone. Looks beautiful when the light catches it.

Bottom row swatched.
The bottom row from left to right:

7) A gorgeous purple shimmer. Its very sheer and does need to be built up.
8) A pale shimmery pink, Very goldie in the light.
9) A shimmery gold colour which look amazing paired with shade 3.
10) A matte medium brown. Great for creases and contouring your eyes and also great for eye brows if your hairs dark.
11) A shimmery coppery brown. More browny than copper. Very similar to Urban Decays YDK
12) A creamy gold shimmery shade. Great for simple day looks or for a high light shade. I love this with just liquid eyeliner.

All the shades are so pigmented, one of the main reasons I love MUA shadows, and for £4 for the palette its a bargain! They also blend really well. The quality of the eye shadows far out weighs their small price tag.

So I was a very happy MUA lover the day this little beauty popped through my letter box!

Have you used any MUA eye shadows? What ones are your favourites? Let me know

Sleek Ultra Mattes V2

Sleek was always a brand I walked past, under the impression they wouldnt have anything to offer me. Well I couldn't have been more wrong! I purchased the face form palette and loved it so I went back to see what else was on offer. I decided on an idivine eye shadow palette and grabbed the Ultra Mattes V2 Darks collection.

Sleek Ultra Darks Palette £7.99 superdrug

I instantly fell in love with it. The packaging with Sleek is gorgeous and looks much more expensive than the £7.99 price tag. The outside box is stunning It gives the products a real high end look even though you have picked it up at a drugstore. Once you get inside the box and get the actual palette out its in a matte black box which is ,excuse the pun, so sleek in design. The packaging is very durable I've had this in my hand bag all day while I've been on my travels on the train and running about uni. Not one eye shadow has broken or split. As with all Sleek palettes there is an almost edge to edge mirror in the lid, which is great for using on the go.

The palette has a plastic film over the shadows with the shade names on, this also helps keep your mirror clean. There is nothing worse than a dusty mirror when your doing your make up! The palette also comes with a double ended sponge applicator. I never use these I always use brushes, unless I'm travelling light and not wanting to do anything to complicated.

The shadows themselves are beautiful All 12 are highly pigmented with a great colour pay off. Unlike some matte colours these aren't that sheer. I do wear them over either Urban Decays Eden primer or Barry m's eyeshadow pencil in shade no 1. Each shadow is blendable and work really well together. Like all dark shadows there is fall out but this is expected.

The shades. Top row.

Top row swatched

Left to right:
Orbit:  dark smokey teal
Ink: Dark navy blue
Highness: Sheer dark purple
Noir: Black
Dune: A neutral yellowy highlight shade. This colour is very sheer.
Pillow talk: White

Bottom Row

Bottom row Satched

Left to right

Thunder: Steel grey
Maple: A light reddy brown
Flesh: A skin tone shade
Paper bag: A medium brown
Villan:: A dark purpled tone brown
Fern: A dark green.

The amount looks you can achieve with this palette is endless. Yes all the shadows are dark but thats okay either don't use as much colour or just mix and match with other shadows, mattes or shimmers, that you have in your collection.

This is the nicest collection of purely matte shadows I have found and is something I will be getting full use of.

*Top tip* When using dark shadows like this, do yours eyes before the rest of your make up. That way any fall out can be cleaned up easily without disturbing your complexion make up.

Sleek Contouring Kit.

I have been looking for a perfect contouring kit for a while, i usually would use a bronzer and either a powder high lighter or a shimmery pale eye shadow, but while I was scanning the shelves of my local drugstore I came across this sleek complete contouring kit. I picked up Light which is great for lighter skin tones like mine. Sleek was originally a collection for women of colour. I used to work in an independent beauty boutique where we had a small sleek stand and alot of the products didn't come in lighter colours. Now the brand has exploded and everyone whos a bit savvy grabs their stuff while its around. (This product has been out of stock in a number of stores for a little while now!)

Sleek contouring palette £9.99

The packaging for this product is divine! It looks almost like a bar of chocolate not a make up palette. It is a nice sized compact. It would easily slip into someones hand bag for the night.

I can see why they have named the company sleek, as all the products are in a nice sleek package. The palette itself is nice and easy to open. So all products are protected from accidental dropping.

The palette has great sized products inside and a big mirror which is always handy so you can contour on the move. The colours are perfect for fair skin like mine. The contouring colour is a matte shade which is great news when contouring.  The high light shade and the blush are shimmer shades.

top to bottom: contour shade, highlight shade, blush shade.
The blush shade is a beautiful burnt coppery orange. I find it to be quite reminiscent of urban decays chopper eye shadow. It does look beautiful when worn. I go get a few compliments on the colour when I'm out and about. The high light is also a shimmery shade in a beautiful ivory colour. This shade catches the light perfectly when your out and about.

All three powders are beautifully soft and blend like a dream on your skin. I use a large angled blush brush to blend these and they look amazing. Together they make my cheeks pop. The highlight and contour also look fab with any other blusher you may have you don't need to use the one in this palette. All three products together give the skin a natural glow

Since buying this I am putting the blush palette they do on my wish list!

Do you use sleek? What products do you swear by? Let me know =]
